This blog is intended to help communicate to you what the youth ministry at League Street Church of Christ in Sulphur Springs, TX has planned.  This blog will be updated weekly and will be advertised through the church website and our Facebook group.  You may come to this blog at any time to get information on upcoming events for the youth ministry.

Dear Parent,

Thank you for allowing your child to serve with the League Street Church of Christ’s youth ministry on our mission trip to Fort Worth, TX coming up June 23-27.

We will leave the church building at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 23 and return by 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 27.  While in Fort Worth we will be working and staying at the Fortress Youth Development Center at 712 Stella St, Fort Worth, TX.

During the day we will be working with the 3 and 4-year-old students at the center and participating in ministry experiences unique to the area (poverty simulations, etc.)  At night we will stay in the Fortress building.

There are showers in the restrooms and the girls will stay on the second floor of the building while the guys will sleep on the first floor.  There are no beds, each participant will need to bring a sleeping mat or inflatable mattress and the bedding to sleep comfortably.  Your child’s suitcase and sleeping gear will be locked up safely during the day.

Fortress has a no electronic device policy for students who are participating in their mission efforts.  Your child may choose to leave their phones and/or gaming gear at home with you or they can turn them into the Fortress staff upon arrival.  All adults from League Street will have their cell phones on them at all times if there is a need for emergency contact.  You can reach your child at any time by calling Brad.

Your child will need the following items:
$ for 2 meals on the road (Sunday & Thursday afternoon)
Clothes for 4 days, sturdy shoes
o 4 pairs of underwear and socks
o 4 shirts
o 4 shorts or pants
Sleeping Bag, sleeping mat, Pillow
Toiletries, towels, soap, shampoo, etc.
Bible, note pad, pen
A Fortress Parental Consent Form (see interns to get one)

We ask for your prayers as we prepare for this exciting mission work.

Grace and Peace,
Brad Sullivan
