League Street Church of Christ Youth News

There will be no devotional at League Street Church of Christ this Sunday night, July 29 since we will be having our 5th Sunday Potluck immediately following Sunday morning worship.  Our next NETSYS Area Wide Devotional will be Monday, July 30 at East Ridge in Rockwall, TX.  Meet at the building at 6 PM we will return by 9:30 PM.  Eat supper before you come.  The League Street Youth Ministry is partnering with our Iglesia de Cristo to reach out to the Lakeview Mobile Home Park this summer.  A large part of our outreach has been Lakeview Kids Club, a VBS type of event with the children of that community in their neighborhood.  Our last kids club of the summer will be Tuesday, July 31, from 8:30 AM - Noon.  Be sure to wear cool clothes, bring a water bottle and sunscreen. Our next NETSYS Area Wide Devotional will be Monday, July 23 at League Street.  We will be hosting as many as 200 area youth and adults for an evening of fun, worship and Bible study.  The congregation is invited to attend.  Thank you to all of you who will make donations of milk and brownies (home made or store bought) for refreshments after the event.  Sign up lists for volunteers are in the adult Bible classes.  Milk and brownies can be dropped off at the church office / fellowship hall beginning Sunday. The League Street Youth Ministry leaves for church camp this coming Sunday morning at 7 AM.  Be sure your camper has money for 2 fast food meals (one on the way down and one on the way home) and that their money is not packed in their luggage (it will be inaccessible on the road.)  For more packing information see the youth ministry Facebook page.  We will return Friday night by 10 PM. Be sure to join us for Vacation Bible School this coming Sunday at 4-6 PM and Monday - Wednesday from 9-11 AM.  All student volunteers should show up for VBS at least 30 minutes before it begins. Our first Sunday Funday of the summer ( a time to play, worship and study the Bible together) will be Sunday night June 17 from 6-8 PM.  If you have them bring hammocks, frisbees and clothes you can wear comfortably outside.  There will be no food served at this event. Our next devotional will be at the Hernandez home this Sunday, June 3rd from 6-8 PM.  Bring swimming clothes and a towel.  Guys bring desserts, girls bring bags of chips.  The bus leaves at 5:45 PM from the church parking lot. This week, June 4-7 will be Camp Deer Run Peewee camp session.  A church bus will transport campers from the church to CDR every day.  The bus leaves League Street Church at 8 AM and returns at 4 PM.  Your day camper will need to bring a sack lunch, towels and swimming gear with them.
